Torrance is the largest community in the South Bay and has a historic area where residents enjoy a flavor of the old country. Walteria, South and North Torrance and an area that is part of Torrance post office but not part of the Torrance highly acclaimed school system should be noted as value differences. Those students in Torrance P.O. are enrolled in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Lot sizes are traditionally larger in Torrance but the homes are not necessarily as large as other South Bay communities. Close proximity to the 405 and 110 freeways are a big attraction to out of area commuters as well as a more rural feel to the general way of life.
